A Warm Farewell from Cajú and Mario Cassini
I would like to announce that after a decade of service, Cajú will be closing its doors at the end of December. It has truly been a pleasure to share my passion for Brazilian culture and cuisine with the people of Toronto and to have been a part of the vibrant West Queen West community.
Over the last 10 years, I have had the fortune of meeting so many people from diverse backgrounds, who also share my passion for Brazil. And to have had the opportunity to work with the Brazilian community to showcase the best that our culture has to offer.
Even though I will miss the restaurant and the many amazing people who have helped make it what it is today, the time is right to move on and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. I will soon be returning to Brazil to visit family, reconnect with my roots and seek out new inspiration. I will be sure to keep you posted on my new ventures (website details to follow).
Our last day of service will be December 22nd.
Wishing you Happy Holidays!
Mario Cassini and the Cajú staff
Experience the flavours of Brazil at Cajú. Brazilian-born Chef and Owner, Mario Cassini has created a menu that is a contemporary take on traditional dishes from different regions. The menu reflects the diverse cultural history of Brazil, which is a blend of European, African, Asian and Native cultures.
Cajú is warm and inviting with modern décor, an elegant bar and a spacious dining room featuring Jatoba cherry wood flooring from Brazil. Bossa Nova and other Brazilian tunes set the mood and the traditional Brazilian cocktail, the Caipirinha, is featured.
